GENiaal Weekend of Energy

REQUEST
Sustainability is on the agenda of at least half of the Dutch organizations, but knowledge on the subject and time for this subject often falls short. Together with the partners of GENiaal, the VOG wants to inspire the 200 participants to make a start on this topic. The aim is to realize an energy neutral municipality. First of all we start by creating awareness amongst the entrepreneurs by informing them and inspiring them.
The following main topics are covered during this session: the ever-changing society, the future, the energy transition, and leadership.
The meeting takes place at Louwman & Parqui in Raamsdonkveer.
EXECUTION
On Friday October 5th, the evening is opened by the Chairman of the VOG – Louis de Wit. The Mayor of Geertruidenberg – Willemijn van Hees – stresses the importance of the weekend for the municipality. Following these speeches a couple of partners give inspiring presentations: one on the car that runs on hydrogen and the other on the vision on energy and sustainable entrepreneurship .
After the presentations the participants are then inspired by Paul Smits’s presentation/act about the human brain, titled “Anders kijken!”. In which way can we then really change? What is needed to make the change? After this keynote speech everyone is invited to participate in the World Cafe.
THEMES
During the three rounds of the World Cafe the participants form a dialogue based on the following topics/ themes:
- Renewal
- Change
- Trust
The hosts are briefed extensively beforehand on these themes so that they know exactly what is expected of them and their role as host.
On the table, to help the participants and hosts on their way, are a few questions, for example: How are things now? How could things be better? What are you going to do tomorrow?
World Cafe Sustainable Future:
Entrepreneurs in dialogue over sustainability
Together with the municipality, the “Verenigde Ondernemers Geertruidenberg” have taken the lead in realizing sustainability. World Café Sustainable Future assists in this process by effectively sharing the already acquired knowledge and from this sharing creating new ideas. The presentation from the participants of the municipality as well as the keynote speech of the moderator inspire the participants to mutually create new ideas and action plans. An extremely successful session!

Both in the organization of the event as well as on the event day itself you continually think along with me and you have an hawk’s eye for detail.
